December may be the summer of the soul, but let’s not forget that you need to keep your noggins warm too. So Double Take has collected another bunch of cinema-related brainteasers, and come up with “The Movie Pub Quiz-tmas”, which will take place in Basement, on December 20th at 7pm.
You’ll be visited by three quizmasters- the hosts of Community Voice FM’s film discussion show, Messrs Harrison, Simpson and Moss- who will each bring a feast of film-themed puzzlers for you and your teammates. In the spirit of the season, we’ll be posing some questions about Christmas on the big screen, including a tricky music round and the traditional round of Mr. Bob Moss reciting quotes from festive favourites. There’ll also be a look back at 2011′s best and worst cinematic offerings, and the final general knowledge round.
Once again, teams can have a maximum of five people in them, and each team must come up with a name- the best one wins a special prize, so be sure to make them film-related and/or Christmassy. The cost of admission is £3 per person, payable on the night, with proceeds going to Butterwick Hospice. Butterwick Hospice Care helps up to 200 patients and their families each day. If you wish, you can reserve places by contacting us onFacebook or Twitter.
Double Take is hosted by Mark Harrison and Rob Simpson, with contributions from Bob Moss. This will be the show’s third pub quiz event, following successful charity events in August and October. For more information, listen to Double Take every Wednesday, from 2-3pm, and you can also subscribe to the podcast version online and via iTunes.
